EMSINA's 5 Capability Questions
Q1: What is the Project Scope / What is trying to be solved?
We (Fire Agencies) need current, federated/distributed datasets covering all States/Territories for the data needed to drive bushfire simulators, Australian Fire Danger Rating System (AFDRS), Air Quality/Smoke modelling (AQFx) and other Predictive Services tools.
Working to coordinate long term standards, updates and federating processes of this data.
Q2: What will be available to the EM community / decision makers at the end of your project?
Federated/distributed data for the datsets: Fire History, Bushfire disruption features, Road network, Fire Vulnerable Assets, DEM, Wind modifiers, Fuel Types, Fuel Attributes, Fuel Conditions (starting with fire history).
Q3: How will the EM Sector access the results?
Unsure – part of work to understand/coordinate access/portal/database.
Q4: What are the main hurdles faced in completing your Project?
Licensing, common data standards, infrastructure
Q5: What input data / work do you need from jurisdictions?
Jurisdiction reps on PSG (Fire & LM Agencies); need EMSINA as part of this, & any Data Agencies not also a Fire/LM Agency.
