The EMSINA network formed the Emergency Management Spatial Developers Group in 2017. It is under the EMSINA umbrella as the National Group with the same Mission and Vision statement to improve safety for Australians through the use of spatial technologies to support sound decision making.
This Spatial Developers group is committed to building the most fit-for-purpose geospatial applications for the emergency management sector through innovation, sharing code/applications, problem solving and creating closed trusting networks with technical peers across Australia's EM community.
The Group has also set up an online presence for registered users. This area include a developers forum and Github site to facilitate code sharing and year-round collaboration.
The EMSINA Spatial Developers group brings together spatial developers from member agencies and their affiliated Land Management agencies, with a wide range of experience and expertise in different languages and applications.
EMSINA Spatial Developers Members
Like EMSINA National, the Group will meet regularly at formally organised and hosted meetings. The meetings will rotate around jurisdictions.

The most recent meeting was hosted in Melbourne by the Victoria Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and included presentations by developers from eleven EMSINA member organisations, live demonstrations, and plenty of sharing and problem solving opportunities.
