Like on PC, good for 3D look, you can overlay your own Google map files via the ‘my maps’ free service. Street view, search is fantastic. Kind of like Google maps without the NAV. Open the NSW Globe on your smart device!
Open KML files via Dropbox, Google Drive, email or iTunes

Worth having, needs internet to work
Add the NSW Globe at http://globe.six.nsw.gov.au/

MAPS.ME — offline map & navigation

Location Awareness (Maps)

Once downloaded, maps work completely offline. You can search the data offline. Good for use on bad days when the data networks get jammed. Not much rural area detail other than roads.

http://maps.me/en/home
Make sure you download on WiFi, files are big but available state-by-state for smaller downloads.
Uses ‘Open Street Maps’ so you can edit the map, see https://www.openstreetmap.org

Memory-Map

Location Awareness (Maps)

Made for those going 4WDing, makes it very good for remote emergencies. A commercial product and pricey but good maps and fully functioned GPS. Not the same as the topo maps we hold, the free Avenza is best here in fact Avenza can do most of what this can do for free. Used by many emergency crews. Has nice maps and good features

Big cost but good maps! Around $130 to $300 fully set-up depending on what maps you download and have annual costs but licences can be applied to multiple devices.

Try Avenza Maps and maps.me as alternatives to this, but this is a very polished product

Custom Maps

Location Awareness (Maps)

Custom Maps makes it easy to create GPS maps from map images, and those maps can be used anywhere, even when you have no data signal for your Android device (it works on both phones and tablets). All you have to do is choose two (or more) matching points that are common to both the map image and Google Maps, and Custom Maps can then show your GPS location on the map
