Role Duties:

The Bushfire Risk Unit is responsible for formulating and delivering strategic risk mitigation strategies at a whole-of-state level. The role of the Senior Spatial Information Officer is to provide specialist advice and services related to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial database systems and processes in support of the Bushfire Risk Unit. The role is responsible for high level GIS and desktop mapping support to assist in planning, preparedness, response and recovery for bushfire risk mitigation. Investigate, coordinate, develop, implement and refine operational systems and procedures for spatial data acquisition, integration and maintenance [extract from Tasmanian govt website].
